Basketball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Farwell last Wednesday, Meridian came back down to earth. The Meridian Mustangs took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ogemaw Heights Falcons on Friday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ogemaw Heights, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will be home for the holidays to greet Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meridian is facing Harrison at the right time seeing as Harrison is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Ogemaw Heights and Garber will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ogemaw Heights has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
