Baseball Game Preview: Stigler Panthers vs. Cameron Yellow Jackets

The Stigler Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Cameron Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Stigler is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Stigler got the win against Muldrow by a conclusive 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Stigler let C Eakle and Evan Williams run wild. Eakle went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Williams scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave Eakle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Latch Smith, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Cameron didn't have quite enough to beat Preston on Thursday and fell 4-3. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cameron saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Hagen, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Stigler's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Cameron, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stigler hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Cameron struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Stigler took their win against Cameron in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 16-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stigler since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
