Softball Recap: Wendell Trojans vs. Grangeville Bulldogs
Wendell posted their closest win since March 20, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past the Grangeville Bulldogs 7-6.
Annabelle McRoberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She also set a new season-high mark in stolen bases with two.
On the hitting side, Wendell got a big performance out of Audra Bunn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was Bunn's first of the season. Macie Bird was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Wendell's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Grangeville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Wendell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-7 win against Declo on the 15th. As for Grangeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-15 victory against Orofino on the 15th.
