Baseball Recap: Smithsburg Leopards vs. Catoctin Cougars
Smithsburg barely beat Catoctin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Leopards put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-1 win on Monday. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Leopards yet this season.
Gavin Ramarge and Chase Sarber made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ramarge pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Meanwhile, Sarber pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. At the plate, Ramarge fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3, while Sarber scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that Ramarge launched this season.
