Softball Recap: Rosamond Comes Up Short

Rosamond dropped their record down to 14-12 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Kern Valley Broncs, falling 9-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Roadrunners couldn't push the score so high this time.

Rosamond saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alysia Rico, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Rico has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

As for Kern Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

On Kern Valley's side, Sam Wyly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, Leenah Troller was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Jade Montes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rosamond will challenge rival Desert at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kern Valley is set to take on their familiar foe California City at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
