Baseball Recap: Greenville's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Greenville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Reynolds Raiders 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Justin Schell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Schell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Greenville let Brandon Stubert and Carter Reichard run wild. Stubert scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Reichard scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Stubert has posted since back in May of 2024. Jackson Leskovac also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Greenville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Reynolds, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Greenville will take on Northwestern at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reynolds, they will square off against Cochranton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
