Preview: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Northwest Guilford Vikings
The Ragsdale Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Northwest Guilford Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Ragsdale suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Southwest Guilford at home and fell 76-36. While losing is never fun, Ragsdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Southwest Guilford is ranked 94th).
Patrick Carter was Ragsdale's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
KJ Burke held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northwest Guilford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 64-53 to Southeast Guilford.
Ragsdale has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Northwest Guilford, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7.
Ragsdale didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northwest Guilford when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ragsdale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
