Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Falcon Green and Marcqell Freeman Lead Veritas Collegiate Academy to Victory

On Saturday, the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans were able to grind out a solid victory over Legacy Academy, taking the game 65-58. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Leading Veritas Collegiate Academy to victory were Marcqell Freeman and Falcon Green. Freeman went 11 for 14 on his way to 34 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Green dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Freeman has scored at least a third of Veritas Collegiate Academy's points.

Legacy Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Hill, who went 8 of 12 en route to 28 points and three steals. Hill's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Anderson Allen was another key player, going 9 for 12 on his way to 21 points and six assists.
