Basketball Recap: Nyjaiviah Blake Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bessemer City + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hough, Lincolnton was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They snuck past the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets with a 47-42 win.

Lincolnton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyjaiviah Blake out in front who posted eight points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Beam, who scored ten points.

Despite the defeat, Bessemer City saw an underclassman step up: freshman Saniyah Moore went 12-for-30 to rack up 29 points. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for Moore. Kynndal Thompson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Lincolnton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bessemer City, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
