Soccer Game Preview: Crocker vs. Moberly

The Crocker Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Moberly Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Crocker fell victim to Eugene and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Moberly's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Their defense stepped up to hand Mexico a 3-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for Moberly in their matchups with Mexico: they've now won seven in a row.

Avery St. Clair and Ella Mathes scored all three of Moberly's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Moberly's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four matchups. As for Crocker, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Crocker suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Moberly in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 4-0.
