Baseball Recap: Many Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Many won against Red River last Friday with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Many beat Red River by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 19-17. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Lathan Lee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Many got a massive performance out of Ryder Gunter, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Gunter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Sylvia, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Many kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Many pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Red River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12-1 record this season.

Many will head out on the road to face off against Natchitoches Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Natchitoches Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Many surely won't give up without a fight. As for Red River, they will face off against Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
