Football Game Preview: Midlothian Trojans vs. Manchester Lancers

Midlothian is 2-8 against Manchester since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Midlothian 14.6, Manchester 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Midlothian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Huguenot on Friday. They took a blow against the Falcons, falling 57-7. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Cosby, posting a 50-13 win. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Titans are ranked 163rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Midlothian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Midlothian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Manchester in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 25-20 win.
