Baseball Recap: Lathrop Comes Up Short

Lathrop blew Monroe Catholic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Monroe Catholic got their revenge. The Malemutes fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Malemutes' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hunter Clements made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Lathrop dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Monroe Catholic, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Monroe Catholic will welcome Hutchison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lathrop will be paying especially close attention to the Rams' contest: after the Rams face off against the Hawks, they'll take on Lathrop again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
