Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Jones County Greyhounds
The Northside Eagles lost against the Jones County Greyhounds back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Northside received a tough blow as they fell 68-51 to Jones County. Northside has struggled against Jones County recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Northside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chastan Brown, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Keron Milton Jr., who scored 16 points.
Jones County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rudy Bowen led the charge by scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Jaleel Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jones County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will take on Bleckley County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bleckley County and Northside are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Jones County, they will be playing at home against Warner Robins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warner Robins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Jones County likes a good challenge.
