Football Game Preview: Liberty Tech Magnet Crusaders vs. Jackson North Side Indians

Liberty Tech Magnet hasn't had much luck against Jackson North Side recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m.

Things were looking good for Liberty Tech Magnet after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a hard 39-24 fall against Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central. While the Crusaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 12-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Jackson North Side hadn't done well against Hardin County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Indians put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 42-21 win.

Liberty Tech Magnet better keep an eye on Javonte Smith. He was instrumental in Jackson North Side's win, picking up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 119 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 64 yards.

One reason for the win was Jackson North Side's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Kymani White and Donta Sawyer, who racked up four sacks between them.

Jackson North Side pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.3 points over those games. As for Liberty Tech Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Liberty Tech Magnet was taken down by Jackson North Side 55-6 in their previous matchup back in August of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Crusaders were down 55-6.
