Volleyball Recap: Maplewood-Richmond Heights Blue Devils vs. Liberty Eagles

Maplewood-Richmond Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Liberty Eagles.

Liberty found their leader in sophomore Nick Hostetter, who had seven assists and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Hostetter. Owen Roberts also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Maplewood-Richmond Heights' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Liberty, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4-1.

Looking ahead, Maplewood-Richmond Heights will look to defend their home court on Monday against Ritenour at 4:15 p.m. The Blue Devils are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Liberty, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Duchesne on the 5th.
