Baseball Game Preview: Lakewood Cougars vs. Lynden Lions

Lakewood is 0-6 against Lynden since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lakewood Cougars face off against Lynden Lions at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Harbor on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lakewood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Lynden came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Bellingham by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday.

Lakewood now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lynden, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Lakewood couldn't quite get it done against Lynden in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can Lakewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
