Baseball Recap: Southwest Covenant Triumphs

Southwest Covenant hadn't done well against Destiny Christian recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 6-5. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Evan Beshears was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Journey Miller, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Southwest Covenant pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Southwest Covenant will face off against Putnam City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Destiny Christian, they will challenge Santa Fe South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
