Cambridge Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Andrew Proffitt and Caden Martinez

Recap: Cambridge Christian Lancers vs. Academy at the Lakes Wildcats
If the Cambridge Christian Lancers were feeling good off their 73-34 takedown of the Central Baptist Christian Lions on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cambridge Christian fell just short of Academy at the Lakes by a score of 52-49. Cambridge Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Academy at the Lakes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Caden Martinez and Andrew Proffitt certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Martinez scored 14 points, while Proffitt scored 14 points. The match was Martinez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Karston Michael Ash, who scored eight points.
Cambridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Academy at the Lakes, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Cambridge Christian will head out on the road to face off against Seffner Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seffner Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cambridge Christian in Florida (Seffner Christian is ranked 131st, while Cambridge Christian is ranked 352nd). As for Academy at the Lakes, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lakeside Christian at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Lakeside Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
