It was a good run, but Liberty unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between them and the Prairie Hawks didn't end well, with the Liberty Lightning falling 66-47. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Hawks are ranked fourth).

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Prairie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prairie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-47 victory against Iowa City on the 10th.
