Recap: St. Francis Sharks vs. Watsonville Wildcatz
The St. Francis Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Watsonville. If St. Francis hoped to take revenge for the 66-60 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
St. Francis' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Rose, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Sam Braun, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
St. Francis has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Watsonville, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will square off against Alisal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alisal has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 547 points over their last eight games. As for Watsonville, they will head out on the road to square off against Marina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
