Softball Recap: Oxford Takes a Loss

If Oxford was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Naugatuck on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Seymour Wildcats by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Seymour, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Coming up, Oxford will square off against St. Paul Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolverines 3.6, the Falcons 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Seymour, they will face off against Crosby at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
