            Softball Recap: Canyon View Jaguars vs. Verrado Vipers        
        
		
        
        
            Canyon View faced Verrado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Jaguars walked away with  a   4-1  win over the Vipers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played  back in March of 2024.
 Emily Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Rylen Buchberger, who  scored two  runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brooke Downs, who  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
 Canyon View was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Verrado only posted a  batting average of  .174.

Canyon View pushed their record up to 19-4 with the  victory, which was their 18th straight  at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. As for Verrado,  with the  defeat, they broke their 17-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-2.
 Coming up, Canyon View will square off against Desert Edge at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Verrado will be paying especially close attention to the Jaguars'  match: after the Jaguars faces off against the Scorpions, they'll take on Verrado again  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
