Baseball Game Preview: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Youngsville Eagles

The Northwestern Wildcats will head out to face off against the Youngsville Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwestern has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Youngsville will come in with three straight wins.

On Thursday, Northwestern came up short against Conneaut Area and fell 10-5.

Joe Schaukowitsch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Youngsville never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top against Iroquois by a score of 3-0.

Iroquois' batters probably weren't too happy with David Manning, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up zero walks). Manning has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braydon Baker was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Youngsville is undefeated when Baker posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise. Cole Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Youngsville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
