Basketball Game Preview: Republic County Buffaloes vs. Beloit Trojans

Republic County is 0-10 against Beloit since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Republic County Buffaloes will welcome the Beloit Trojans. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Republic County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Valley Heights with a 62-56 win on Friday.

Meanwhile, Beloit came up short against Sacred Heart on Tuesday and fell 66-56.

Defeat or not, Beloit got some senior leadership from Eli Johnson and Jackson Cheney. Johnson went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds, while Cheney went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Cheney, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Republic County's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Beloit, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.
