You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Laney on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the South Brunswick Cougars out of the water with a 63-27 final score. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Cougars are ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Laney's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Lamb, who posted eight points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Schumacher, who had eight points.
