Softball Game Preview: Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks vs. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves

Fonda-Fultonville is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to take on the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Fonda-Fultonville can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Thursday. They lost 18-1 to Niskayuna.

Fonda-Fultonville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellana Dineen, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Duanesburg on Monday, falling 7-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Everything went Fonda-Fultonville's way against Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Fonda-Fultonville made off with a 15-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Valley Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
