Football Recap: Smith-Cotton Takes a Loss

Smith-Cotton lost against Rock Bridge back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers were outmatched by the Bruins and fell 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Bruins are ranked 36th).

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Armand Wright, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Smith-Cotton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rock Bridge, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Smith-Cotton is set to face off against their familiar foe Camdenton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rock Bridge will challenge rival Jefferson City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
