Basketball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne was the 49-42 winner over Panguitch when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Badgers took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats on Friday.

Defeat or not, Wayne got some senior leadership from Hunter Robins and Blake Peterson. Robins dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards, while Peterson posted 14 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds. Peterson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tristin Martinez, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

Trenton Virga had another great game (as he tends to do), going 10-for-17 en route to 21 points along with eight boards and five blocks for Panguitch. Camden Englestead was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Panguitch, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

As of now, neither Wayne nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
