Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Desert Mountain walked away with it. They never let the Canyon View Jaguars get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won 26 matches in a row.

Not much got past Lilly 'Goose' Goodwin, who gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks to keep Canyon View off the board. Goodwin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 23 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Desert Mountain's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Borovansky, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Desert Mountain pushed their record up to 29-1-1 with the victory, which was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon View, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 26-6.

Desert Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Canyon del Oro on the 19th. Canyon View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
