Football Game Preview: Cambridge Trojans vs. Hitchcock County Falcons

The Cambridge Trojans will square off against the Hitchcock County Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Cambridge came up short against Overton and fell 33-24. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Defeat or not, Cambridge got some senior leadership from Micah Gerlach and Brady Ahlemeyer. Gerlach rushed for 149 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, while Ahlemeyer picked up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 149 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Gerlach.

Meanwhile, Hitchcock County strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their game with ease, bagging a 54-6 win over Maywood/Hayes Center. With the Falcons ahead 40-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Hitchcock County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
