Torres has gone 7-1 against Roosevelt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Toros will head out on the road to challenge the Rough Riders at 4:30 p.m. Torres will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Torres is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Caruthers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Toros not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 10-2).
Matthew Escoto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Torres is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-17 otherwise. Escoto was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jordan Galindo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Amani Sua was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Torres kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt made easy work of Kings Christian on Friday and carried off a 14-2 victory. The Rough Riders haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Like Torres, Roosevelt also got a great game from a two-way player: Xamuel Cerrato. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cerrato was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Manny Molano, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Lazalde, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Torres' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-17. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, their record is now 15-11-1.
Torres skirted past Roosevelt 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Toros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rough Riders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
