Baseball Recap: Bayshore Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Florala

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bayshore Christian). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Florala Wildcats an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since April 12, 2024.

Not much got past Jack Malone, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Florala off the board. What's more, Malone gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Jace Jones was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. What's more, he posted two runs, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nate Crooms, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Bayshore Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Bayshore Christian moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Florala, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

As for Florala, they will venture away from home to challenge New Brockton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
