California has gone 8-2 against Versailles recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pintos will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Versailles took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on California, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, California turned things around against Centralia on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant California was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-11.

California's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amelia Motley led the charge by getting seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Motley has posted since back in October of 2024.

Motley wasn't the only good servers: California was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Versailles had taken Hallsville down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Tigers fell 2-0 to the Indians.

Versailles has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20-4 record this season. As for California, their win bumped their record up to 19-8-4.

Everything went California's way against Versailles when the teams last played back in September, as California made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pintos since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
