Ridgevue gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-18 victory over the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks. For the Warhawks, this counts as revenge for the 48-21 win the Riverhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

A big part of Ridgevue's victory came down to the chemistry between Dominic Zora and his top target Isaac Jones. Zora rushed for 52 yards and one TD while Jones picked up 147 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Jones showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 53 yards.

Ridgevue's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Kai Dowining and Trace Farrell, who racked up four sacks between them. Farrell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Canyon Ridge and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgevue will take on Wood River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Canyon Ridge, they will challenge Century at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
