Soccer Recap: Poplarville Comes Up Short

Poplarville lost against Bay back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Poplarville Hornets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bay Tigers. The shutout was out of character for the Hornets seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in November of 2024.

Poplarville's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-8-1. As for Bay, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5-2.

Poplarville will be playing at home against Greene County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Poplarville is facing Greene County at the right time seeing as Greene County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Bay has already played their next match (against Pass Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
