After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pleasant Plains/New Berlin, Athens/PORTA was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Pana Panthers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for Athens/PORTA, who have now won 13 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Pana from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Harper Gorbett led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Athens/PORTA's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Pana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10-1 record this season.

Athens/PORTA didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth on the 9th. As for Pana, they will face off against Auburn at 12:00 p.m. on the 17th.
