Basketball Recap: Shirley Comes Up Short

Shirley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 59-31 loss at the hands of the Sacred Heart Rebels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 48-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Shirley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-25. As for Sacred Heart, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shirley will take on Viola at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sacred Heart, they will host Midland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
