Volleyball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Colts vs. Maysville Panthers

Meadowbrook has gone a perfect 10-0 against Maysville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Colts will challenge the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Meadowbrook is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Archbishop Hoban just ended the team's 15-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to the Knights.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-10, 25-22.

Meadowbrook's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Journey Nicola, who had 19 digs and two assists, and Kara Launder, who had 11 digs and two assists. Nicola is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Maysville came up short against New Lexington, falling 3-0. Maysville has struggled against New Lexington recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-8, 25-11.

Meadowbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Maysville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Meadowbrook took their win against Maysville in their previous meeting on September 2nd by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
