Softball Preview: North Pemiscot Mustangs vs. Holcomb Hornets
North Pemiscot is 0-5 against Holcomb since March of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. North Pemiscot has given up an average of 18.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
North Pemiscot couldn't beat Leopold on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Mustangs lost 20-6 to the Wildcats. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Holcomb didn't have quite enough to beat Scott City on Tuesday and fell 13-12.
Chaytlin Hardcastle and Ella Jane Lemings stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hardcastle went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Lemings went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That triple was Hardcastle's first of the season.
Holcomb's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for North Pemiscot, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
