Softball Game Preview: Central Christian Comets vs. Crestline Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Central Christian will face off against Crestline. The Comets are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Central Christian came up short against Crestline on Monday, falling 21-11. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Crestline's part, Addisyn Lavene made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Those hits were Lavene's first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on LaVanna Sanders, who went 2-for-4 with five runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kenidy Bedson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Crestline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Crestline's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Central Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Crestline's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Central Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342.
