Basketball Recap: Weber Comes Up Short

Weber lost against Layton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Weber Warriors received a blow as they fell 79-64 to the Layton Lancers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (58), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Layton was led to victory by Karter Miller and Sam Romer. Miller posted 25 points in addition to seven assists and three steals, while Romer scored 25 points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in blocks (three). Jonah Fullmer was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Weber's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Layton, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Weber will welcome Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Weber's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Layton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-55 victory against Fremont on the 13th.
