Baseball Recap: Brandywine Takes a Loss

Brandywine dropped their record down to 9-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Wilmington Friends Quakers, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since May 14, 2024.

As for Wilmington Friends, the win got them back to even at 9-9. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Brandywine: they've now won six in a row.

For Wilmington Friends' part, not much got past Braeden Pantano, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Brandywine off the board. Pantano also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Quakers are 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Ronny Berry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Kwoka, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Brandywine nor Wilmington Friends have any future games scheduled.
