Basketball Recap: MCC's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

MCC had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Round Lake Panthers by a score of 56-48 on Monday.

It was another big night for Amaar Ibrahim, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points along with seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalid Khan, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points.

MCC's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Round Lake, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

MCC will square off against Unity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. That contest will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Ibrahim and Mason O'Neal. As for Round Lake, they will venture away from home to challenge Dundee-Crown at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Dundee-Crown will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Round Lake surely won't give up without a fight.
