Softball Recap: Fayette Falcons vs. Harrisburg Bulldogs
Fayette won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They lost 14-4 to the Harrisburg Bulldogs. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Fayette saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayle John, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitley Sunderland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Fayette's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for Harrisburg, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayette will challenge Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Harrisburg, they will face off against South Callaway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrisburg will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
