Football Recap: Ravenna Piles Up the Points Against Elm Creek

Ravenna won the last time they faced Elm Creek and things went their way on Friday too. The Bluejays breezed past the Buffaloes to the tune of 58-22. With the Bluejays ahead 42-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Ravenna was led to victory by Kobe Chamberlin and Trenton Wedemeyer. Chamberlin rushed for 227 yards and five scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, while Wedemeyer rushed for 201 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Those 201 rushing yards gave Wedemeyer a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ravenna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 440 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 202 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Elm Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Keston Beavers and Kole Steiner. Beavers picked up 117 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Steiner threw for 165 yards and two TDs. Beavers showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 57 yards.

Ravenna's record is now 2-0. As for Elm Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Ravenna will welcome Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elm Creek, they will venture away from home to take on Overton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
