Softball Recap: Ransom Everglades Comes Up Short

Ransom Everglades extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They came up short against the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones, falling 22-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cyclones this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-4 back in February.

Addie Rothfield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

On Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's side, Allyson Wolfson was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Wolfson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Whitby, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Ransom Everglades has already played their next contest (against Colonial Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-5 win against Somerset Academy South Homestead on the 10th.
