Baseball Recap: Victory Christian Comes Up Short

Victory Christian was the 5-3 winner over Berryhill when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Conquerors fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.

Bandit Thomas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Isaac King was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Victory Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Berryhill, their record is now 18-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Christian will square off against Verdigris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Berryhill, they will face off against Catoosa at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
