Basketball Recap: Sand Creek Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Sand Creek had won three straight home games and Mathew Starks did his part to make it four on Friday. The Sand Creek Scorpions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mitchell Marauders 84-19 thanks in part to Starks, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Wuol Chak, who posted ten points and six rebounds. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Sand Creek is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Mitchell, they are on a 37-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Sand Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-58 victory against Falcon on the 1st. As for Mitchell, they will challenge Pueblo Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mitchell is facing Pueblo Centennial at the right time seeing as Pueblo Centennial is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
