Softball Recap: Chagrin Falls Takes a Loss

Chagrin Falls lost against Hawken two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 12-11. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Ella Stec led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brigitte Edwards, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Chagrin Falls and nudges their season record down to 4-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Hawken, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chagrin Falls will welcome Kenston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawken, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against John Hay at 4:30 p.m.
